Description of Significance/Historical Narrative
The Blackman Farmstead is significant as an outstanding and substantially intact example of a subsistence farming complex representing the agricultural way of life in a 19th-century township of the Western Uplands. The farm has been home to painter Robert Cottingham since 1976.
