Description of Significance/Historical Narrative
Home of writer and teacher Blanche McCrary Boyd from early 1980s to 1994. This home is adjacent to houses of sculptor William Ashby McCloy (to the north) and of poet William Meredith and painter Rita Dawley (to the south). The small cluster along the west bank of the Thames River has been a location for artists, many associated with Connecticut College, from the time of Meredith's purchase in the late 1950s.
