Description of Significance/Historical Narrative
The Champlin Store is a contributing resource to the Ivoryton Historic District, a nineteenth-century company town built an ivory manufacturer. It was a retail business during the early twentieth century period of Ivoryton’s greatest prosperity as a factory town. In 1966, Leo and Dahlia Jensen, both artists, settled in Ivoryton, using the upper floors for their studios.
