Initially a vacation home for Grace Zaring Stone, it became her home from 1956 to her death.

Description of Significance/Historical Narrative
Designed and built in 1785-87, by brothers Joseph and Benjamin Eells, the house is a contributing resource in the Stonington Borough Historic District. In the 20th century, the house was a summer retreat, and in 1956 home to writer Grace Zaring Stone and later her daughter, Eleanor Perényi.
