The Pfeiffers' house, which they rehabbed and from which they led their architecture practices.

Description of Significance/Historical Narrative
Alberta Pfeiffer, a locally prominent architect and one of few women in the profession, moved to this house c.1930. She designed a number of homes in the area, including those of painter Thomas Willoughby Nason in Lyme and sculptor Mary Knollenberg in Chester.
