Description of Significance/Historical Narrative
A contributing resource to the Sanford Road Historic District, Gladys Taber named the farmstead Stillmeadow. The setting inspired much of her written work, on topics from cooking to observations of country life, and out of her columns came a series of books such as "Harvest at Stillmeadow" in 1940 and "Stillmeadow Album," a photo essay in 1969. The house is still owned by her family, who display her work in it. The associated farmland is now part of the Southbury Land Trust holdings.
