Description of Significance/Historical Narrative
The Sturges-Wright House is an 18th century house modified by its owners over time. Notably, the house was the residence of early twentieth century illustrator George Hand Wright, under whose ownership from 1907 to 1951 Colonial Revival changes were made. The artist also turned an outbuilding into his studio. In 2019, the current owner donated a preservation easement on the property to Preservation Connecticut to safeguard its future.
