Description of Significance/Historical Narrative
Built about 1810 by Jonathan Wheeler, the house was later occupied by Lyman Dudley, a blacksmith. His daughter, Lorinda Dudley founded the Mystic Art Association and had studio space in the house. In the later 20th century, it was the home of artist Paul Lowell White, who painted in Dudley's studio space, and his partner actor Lee Howard. It is a contributing resource in the Mystic River National Register and Local Historic Districts.
